1. How did you first get interested in face painting?
I’ve always been passionate about art, and I got into face painting as a high schooler while volunteering at a local event in Rhode Island. I loved how face painting combines creativity with the joy of interacting with people, especially kids. After that, I sought out more opportunities to practice and eventually joined The Face Painter RI two years ago. It’s been a fun and rewarding way to express my artistic side while making people smile.
I’m now a student at Wheaton College, so I work both Southern MA after class during the week and all of RI on weekends.
2. What are your favorite types of events to work?
My favorite events to work are definitely birthday parties! The energy is always upbeat, and I love how excited the kids get when they see their face painting designs. However, I also enjoy larger public events in RI, like festivals and fairs, where I get to paint a variety of designs and meet lots of new people. No matter the event, being a face painter in Rhode Island has allowed me to work in so many different settings, each with its own unique vibe.
3. What’s your #1 tip for clients throwing a birthday party?
My top tip for clients hosting a birthday party is to make sure you have a shaded or climate-controlled area set up for the face painting. Having a comfortable space helps both the face painter and the kids enjoy the experience more. I’d describe my face painting style as creative and adaptable. I love working with bright colors and bold designs, but I also enjoy more delicate, intricate patterns. Whether it’s superheroes, animals, or custom requests, I try to make each face painting unique and fun.
