Paint Night Event FAQ

Here’s an FAQ for a Paint Night Party RI:

1. Do you have a venue?
No, we bring the Paint Night Party RI experience directly to you! We’ll come to your event location with all the necessary supplies and set everything up for a creative and fun night of painting.

2. What do we need to provide?
You’ll need to provide 1 chair and table space for each guest, access to running water near the painting area, trash cans for cleanup, and adequate parking for our artists near the event space. We handle the rest!

3. Is it messy?
While painting can be a little messy, it’s generally manageable. To keep things neat, we recommend providing disposable table covers and ensuring the event takes place on solid floors rather than carpet. Paint is washable but can stain rugs or carpets.

4. What paintings can we choose from?
We offer a selection of painting options for your Paint Night Party RI, primarily focusing on landscapes or macro-paintings of nature. Contact our office to see samples and choose the best painting for your group!

5. How many instructors does it come with?
Depending on your group size, we provide 1-4 instructors to guide the painting process and ensure everyone has a great experience.

6. Is it good for kids?
While Paint Night Party RI is designed for teens and adults, kids can participate with adult supervision. Keep in mind, this is not an art class or babysitting service, so younger children should be accompanied by an adult.

7. Can we drink wine or smoke during the event?
Yes, as long as all alcohol or substances are provided by the client and follow local and federal laws. If the venue permits it, feel free to provide any snacks, food, or beverages you’d like during your Paint Night Party RI.

8. How long does it take?
We recommend setting aside up to 2 hours for your Paint Night Party RI. Most paintings take 60-90 minutes to complete, depending on the size of your group. Our artists will need access to the space 1 hour before the event to set up.

How To Book a Paint Night Party

If your venue wants to draw in a massive crowd, foam is the way to do it!

To spray foam in an indoor venue, we need the following requirements:

  1. A concrete area with drainage, like a club dancefloor that can be hosed down at the end of the night. Carpet, hardwood, or tiles won’t work for foam.
  2. A faucet that our techs can hook a hose up to. The faucet needs to be a maximum of 100′ from where the cannon will be set up, and needs to run along a path where guests won’t trip over it.
  3. A grounded, 3-prong electrical outlet that our techs can run equipment to. The outlet needs to be a maximum of 100′ from where the cannon will be set up, needs to run along a path where guests won’t trip over it, and can’t have anything else on the circuit (since our machines require a lot of energy.)

And while foam parties are perfect for alcohol-free events, if your venue is expecting large groups of people and drinking, ask us about additional security services while booking. Our team has over a decade of experience in club bouncing and festival security, is fully insured, and can make sure your guests feel safe enough to relax and have a great time.

Prepare your Party for a Paint Night

If you’ve never planned a foam event before, it can seem pretty mysterious and elaborate. But don’t worry: in our decade of event entertainment planning, we have some tips for you!

Prepare your guests for the right dress code. You can read more on our FAQ, but guests shouldn’t wear anything they don’t want to get wet. This may mean guests bringing a change of clothes (such as to a wedding or adult birthday party) or coming in something less dressy than they otherwise would (like to a nightclub or bar).

Walk through your venue to make sure it works with foam. If our foam techs can’t set up because your venue won’t work with foam, we’ll absorb our non-refundable deposit to compensate our office and events team for their time. Make sure you read our preparation guide and walk through your space to check that it’s compatible with foam.

Work with a professional DJ. For small events our foam techs will come with a speaker that’s compatible with an aux cord or BlueTooth, but unless you’re prepared with the perfect playlist (or for events over 25 people), you’ll want a pro DJ from your team or ours.

Have an area for phones and bags, or encourage guests to leave them in their car. Foam is wet, and if your guests are worried about electronics or bags getting wet, you’ll want a place to put them. For a small private event this can be a table near the foam area, but for a public event this should be lockers or a sign encouraging

For public events, plan to have extra security. When the foam is up to guests’ shoulders or hips, no one will be able to see anything under the foam. Extra security dedicated to the foam area will keep your event feeling safe so guests can enjoy it. (And if you don’t have extra security present from your own team, ask about our insured and bonded security services when booking.)

Interview with Marissa: Professional Paint Night Instructor for Hire

1. How did you first start teaching paint nights?
I started out as an afterschool art teacher while attending CCSU for Art, and that really ignited my passion for teaching. In 2010, I transitioned into face painting, which allowed me to develop my skills further in the world of live art and entertainment. Then, in 2015, I apprenticed under a professional paint night instructor to expand my teaching into group events. Shortly after that, I began working with Kaleidoscope as their lead paint night instructor, and I’ve loved every step of the journey!

2. What are your favorite things about paint nights?
One of my favorite things about teaching paint nights is working with people who come in saying, “I’m not a good painter” or “I could never do that.” There’s something so rewarding about guiding them through the process and watching them light up when they realize they’ve created something they’re proud of. It’s amazing to see how much confidence can grow in just one evening of painting.

3. What are your favorite types of events?
While I enjoy all types of events, I find that college paint nights are a lot of fun, but my absolute favorites are the residential events in apartment buildings and condo complexes. There’s something special about connecting with older adults at those events—they’re usually more relaxed and less self-conscious than younger adults, which makes for a really fun, laid-back atmosphere. It’s refreshing to do something different and meaningful in those settings.

4. Are you a painter in real life?
Yes, I’m a painter at heart! I originally wanted to become a mural painter, but now I work full-time as a face painter, body painter, and paint night instructor. With such a busy schedule, I don’t always get to focus on my personal work, but I still find ways to stay connected to my passion through the work I do with others.

5. What makes a good paint night?
A good paint night really comes down to having a charismatic instructor who can get people to relax and enjoy the process. Self-consciousness is a killer when it comes to creativity, so as an instructor, my job is to create a welcoming and fun environment where everyone feels comfortable expressing themselves, no matter their skill level.
